I paint the now.

My practice is rooted in honoring Black life as it exists today. Through portraiture, I celebrate people while they are here, offering them their flowers in the present rather than in remembrance.

Drawing inspiration from my family, I use their stories as the foundation for my work. Their histories become a lens through which I understand my own journey, allowing each painting to connect past, present, and future. My work exists as both an act of preservation and a declaration that today's lives are tomorrow's history.
